What problem or issue has the innovative practice aimed to tackle?

The government in Denmark has claimed that vocational education with all its knowledge and competences will be one of the key drivers in the green transition towards e.g. more sustainable living and carbon neutral solutions.

EUC Syd has the ambition of being one of the leading VET schools in Denmark with a clear focus on sustainability at many levels.


What have been the achievements in terms of outcomes?

· Development of sustainable strategy for EUC Syd

· Cooperation with companies and VET stakeholders

· Taking part in PPP Project Zero and gaining more knowledge to EUC Syd for faculty and teaching

· Management level taking part in UN Learning Cities

· Becoming an UNESCO school and taking part in projects involving students with perspective of an international outreach

· Pedagogical inspiration for the faculty to address the theme in their educational programs

· Involvement of student council for events and happenings

· Organisation of a sustainable week for all basic students every year.

· Development of courses for international students in for the Erasmus+ mobilities


Who was involved and how?

Management and board at EUC Syd - drawing up the lines and initiatives for strategy and sustainable direction

Faculty at EUC Syd – developing activities and teaching content about sustainability within their subjects

Project Zero and their management and network - supporting EUC Syd with development of materials, places to visit, knowledge sharing for faculty, EUC Syd board member and in steering committees in Project Zero

UNESCO international partners – giving inspiration and network for the UN activities and teacher’s network

International department developing modules in different trades for EUC Syd’s international Erasmus+ mobility partners
